Arrival in Bangkok. In the afternoon, we meet for a briefing where we explain the key points of our tour. Welcome dinner.
Today, we'll take a city tour of Bangkok for approximately eight hours. We'll visit several of the city's most famous sites.
We'll be taking a domestic flight from Bangkok to Chiang Rai. The Ride Asia team will greet passengers at Chiang Rai International Airport and transfer us to our hotel in Chiang Khong. After check-in, you can relax until the grand briefing in the afternoon. Dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant.
Today we'll cross the border into Laos. Entry into Laos is quick. Today's route is very winding, a pure mountain road. Be careful, just because of the potholes. We arrive at our hotel in Oudom Xay in the afternoon.
We depart from Oudum Xay via Route R2E to Muang Khua and then to the Tay Trang border with Vietnam. In between, we'll stop to visit the Dien Bien Museum. Dinner will be served at the Nhà hàng Dân Tộc Quán ethnic restaurant.
A beautiful day awaits us. We'll travel along good roads and through remote mountains. Sapa is one of the most beautiful places in northern Vietnam. The area is famous for its terraced rice fields and its local population. Along the way, you'll be enchanted by the beautiful landscapes and magnificent roads. In the afternoon, we'll arrive in Sapa, where we'll have our first day of rest.
Dinner at the Red Dzoa House restaurant.
Rest day/Excursion to Sapa Rice Terraces, Thung Lung Muong Rice Terraces, Notre Dame Cathedral, Sapa Love Market or relax at your hotel.
Today we continue north to Ha Giang. The small town of Ha Giang is the gateway to Vietnam's northern provinces. This mountainous region borders Yunnan (China). After a wonderful visit to Sapa, we depart early. From the summit of Sapa to Lao Cai, a border town near Hekou (China), we continue north on AH14 to Ha Giang. Excellent driving and magnificent views along the way. Dinner at the Yen Bien Luxury Hotel.
We continue in the northern border region. Another day full of adventures. The route may be short, but the mountain roads and photo spots take time. It will take us a full day to reach our destination. Beautiful landscapes and narrow, winding roads accompany us through the border region to our easternmost point in Vietnam and the Lung Cu Flag Tower. We will also have the opportunity to see the Twin Fairy Mountains. Today is one of the most unforgettable days of our trip. Dinner at the NhàHang Green Krast restaurant.
Breathtaking views await us for the first 20 km toward Cao Bang, a village near the Chinese border. Spectacular vistas and winding roads await us along the way. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful viewpoint. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant.
Today we travel east to the coastal city of Halong. We spend the night in the border town of Lang Son. Before departing for Lang Son, we visit the Ban Gioc waterfalls on the China-Vietnam border. The drive to Ban Gioc is a beautiful scenic route, while the drive to Lang Son is on rural roads. Dinner will be served at a Vietnamese restaurant.
Today we travel to the world-famous Halong Bay for a two-day luxury cruise. The distance to the pier is 184 km. We should arrive at the Catherine Cruise Center for boarding around 11:30 a.m. Today's route is fairly straightforward, with little traffic, to the outskirts of Halong City. Lunch will be served on board. We recommend bringing small luggage for both nights of the cruise. Once you arrive at the Cruise Center and park, we ask that you board with full motorcycle gear for ease of disembarkation.

Overnight on the luxury cruise.
Today is our last day on the motorbike to Hanoi. From Halong, we head straight for the cruise ship. After breakfast, get dressed, pay your bills, and disembark. Our cruise ship is expected to arrive at the port around 10:30-11:00. After disembarking, the first stretch is along a suburban street, and just before reaching the city, it gets somewhat crowded. The center is one of the busiest streets in the world, with hundreds of small motorbikes everywhere. Please stay in a group; you'll be impossible to spot today! Dinner is at the Quan An Ngon Meliá Ha Noi Hotel.
We'll meet for our Hanoi city tour. We'll travel in our local guide's van. There are many sights to see in a short amount of time. We'll try to see most of the sites and finish early in the afternoon so you can rest and prepare for the Hanoi water puppet show in the evening. Farewell dinner.
